Live With Purpose

Less than a decade ago, two stalwart trees perched on this rock, tall and proud and seemingly invincible, like the rock itself.  They are nothing but a memory now, swallowed by the sea.  The rock knows that the sea has her sights set on him next.  He hangs on, refusing to yield as she batters him with a barrage of storms.  He reaches to the stars for wisdom.

“Brother Rock”, says the Cosmos gently, “don’t you know that we’re all temporary?  That change is inevitable?  Even much of the light you see now as you look at my face comes from stars who have long since died.  Use your time here to shine as brightly as you can; spread beauty and make an impact that will last after your time here is done.”

Time is fleeting for us all.  By choosing to live with meaning and purpose, by spreading beauty and love, we hold the power to transcend the boundaries of time and leave a lasting imprint on the universe.
