Harbor Morning
It’s dawn in the harbor. The rest of the world still sleeps. The sun silently pushes a fiery finger through the misty fog, then tries to nudge in further, but the fog is unwilling to yield just yet. A battle will ensue shortly, but for now, it’s a standoff. A gull pierces the silence with its sharp cry, then quickly falls quiet, embarrassed by its faux pas. “It’s ok”, I whisper, “there is no one to hear but me and my camera”. The bird looks at me quizzically. “What’s wrong with you?”, he mutters, almost inaudibly, “Talking to birds. Hmph.” Now who is embarrassed?
